The Beat Surrender

If I’m being honest Sound And Fury sound like all of the small rock bands trying to make it big but failing miserably. The track ‘18’ is all very simple, instrumentally and lyrics wise. The chorus ‘18 Whooaahhh! 18!! Whooaahhh’ just crosses the line for me. It has no variation, the lyrics are bland and you find that you lose interest within the first 4 seconds of the song. I know I sound like Simon Cowell here striking out vicious comments but it really does need to be said (Now I know how he feels!)

On a regular basis supporting bands for tribute bands combine of this sort, yes they can all play their instruments but do they provide any good out of it? Of course they dont! Bands you see adding you on myspace these days all seem the same, no variation, little talent and somehow believe they are unique musically. They couldnt be more wrong.
Then I hear ‘Ohyeeeaaaboywatchertrynasail’ by which point I have lost all hope.

I think this just represents the fact that the songs about being 18 and ‘all over the place’ which is vocally correct also. I dont think they picked the name for their band quite rightly so either as they dont sound full of fury, sound more like they’re bored in a friends garage practising the usual! ‘18’ is to be released on the 15th September via Rebel Youth Records.
