Rain - 267d Cranmore Boulevard

I’m not sure if the name is meant to be ironic, but there is certainly nothing dull, miserable, overcast or in the least bit rainy from these three elder statesmen who call themselves Rain. The people in question are Alan Sinnett, Matthew Corbett and Mike Wilkie.

As a band they don’t pursue this as a full time career itself, with any proceeds from gigs and record sales being donated to charity, that though hasn’t stopped them producing the first real feelgood album of the summer (we’ve had a week of good weather…what are you gonna call it?).

The vibe is upbeat, summery power pop and features the two singles Juice and Overload, the latter of which is probably the album highlight for me. They might be knocking on a little now but they could still show some of these young upstarts a thing or two.
