Hurricane Chris - 51/50 Ratchet
It makes me cringe to have to write this but I’m goanna go for it!
Released 1st September Hurricane Chris (Nice name!!) brings his second album to the table with a faint tap rather than a bang! His opening track Getting Money sums this album up perfect! With lyrics such as ‘Mama told me I’ve much to learn’... You can say that again… and yes he does literally… about 50 times!!
This 18 year old lad sings/talks about stacks of cash, blunts, honeys, rollers, hard times and clubs/parties!! That’s basically the intellect of the whole 13 track album. Well the last time I checked 21 was the legal drinking age in America! What could Hurricane Chris (ha-ha sorry) know about clubs, drinking, honeys and life experience? For me the last thing we need is another young angry R&B Hip Hop artist hiding behind average beats with no lyrical talent, little life experience and flashing his cash to make a name for himself! Heard it before! Try something different!!
This album is dull, repetitive and lacks any sign of talent. Truthfully, maybe he should change his name to Faint Breeze... Hurricane is a bit of a stretch don’t you think!
