Cinnamon Chasers - A Million Miles From Home

Cinnamon Chasers is actually the solo projuect of Russ Davies the nephew and son of Ray and Dave Davies of Kinks fame…not that they have influenced his sound as the album is as far removed as you could get from them if you tried.

A Million Miles From Home is a deceptively good album, one that really starts to find you on the second or third listen, musically it’s closer in style to Royksopp if you are looking for a quick reference point. Vocally on the tracks that aren’t full instrumentals he displays what a lovely and evocative voice he’s got.

Well worth investing in this album folks, it’s full of melody and is toe tappingly good stuff…if only Royksopp could have made their third album a bit more like this!
