The Opiates - Anatomy Of A Plastic Girl EP

If you are of a certain age then the mention of Billie Ray Martin (pictured) singing Your Loving Arms, will set off a flood of nostalgia and memories from the early 90’s dance scene.

It’s time to update that view a little though now and move on from gazing longingly into the past, Billie Ray Martin is back with a new band called The Opiates who she has set up with Robert Solheim and from this release things are looking good.

It’s out on 10” vinyl and through i-Tunes if you want to get your hands on some beautiful downbeat electronica, with Martin’s distinctive vocal sounding almost bored, yet still pulling it off. They have an album set to follow entitled Hollywood Under The Knife which i’m really looking forward to hearing.
