Paul Steel - April & I
I was intitially a little bit confused by this being a mini album when I first got my hands on April & I, the debut release from talented singer-songwriter Paul Steel.
Confusion reigned for a number of reasons. The first was that you don’t get many mini albums that have 10 tracks on them, aside from the Wedding Presents ‘Mini’ I can’t think of many that have a particular concept to them, but the most baffling aspect of this Imaginary Friend themed album was that it doesn’t sound like a solo artist, it sounds like a band…and not just any band.
April & I is an album that is filled with sunshine Harmonies, it could have been written by the Brian Wilson and it certainly could have been sung by the Beach Boys. A real joy from start to finish and a talent that is more than worth keeping your eye out for, if you fancy catching him live he’s just started a UK tour which finishes at the end of April.
Roll on his full length album which will be out later this year, in the mean time get your hands on this limited edition release which came out today.
