Gus Black - Autumn Days

We are literally awash with singer-songwriters at the moment, especially males, not sure why that is but at least it’s giving the genre a little more credibility rather than David wobbly head being held up as a leading exponent.

Gus Black has been around a little longer than most, Autumn Days is his second UK release following on from Uncivilized Love which came out in 2004. Over in the States he’s already far more established having supported Oasis and Pearl Jam over there.

Lyrically he’s very open in his songwriting, a lot of the songs seem and sound very personal to him and the music is folky without ever sounding like he’s playing with grass between his teeth. If you are looking for something a little darker and off of the mainstream then you could do worse than look at Gus Black.
