Chris Townsend - Back Again /Copenhagen
Double a-side taken from the album Copenhagen due for release in May 2008.
Emotive piano and very indie sounding, very much in the style of Snow Patrol, Coldplay, Embrace etc. It’s a shame because Chris Townsend has a good voice, the songs are well written it’s just the style for me felt dated. 10/10 for the quality, sadly 2/10 for imagination.
While initially my feelings were that Back Again was the stronger of the two tracks the more I listened the more I liked Copenhagen. It grew on me and despite the big indie rock bit in the middle, I feel this wasn’t a bad guitar rock ballad type of track.
