Mercury Rev - Back To Mine
The Back To Mine series is one of the original and certainly by me, most loved compilation series that focuses on the artists that have inspired the band making the selection or that are favourite tracks of theirs. Its range of people chosen is impressive; we’ve had everyone from The Orb and New Order to Groove Armada and Underworld.
The latest in the series comes courtesy of Mercury Rev, as you would expect (presuming you’ve heard any of their albums) it’s a very quirky mix of tracks that at the same time have a real sweet charm to them.
It open with A New Career In A New Town by David Bowie, closes with When You Wish Upon A Star by Cliff Edwards and in between has the eclectic mix of Nico, Spaceman 3, Terry Jacks and Billie Holliday!
The album is out now and features 23 tracks.
