The Beat Surrender

Let’s start with the name first shall we, O. What a strange name to choose for a band, it says nothing to you and is an absolute bugger in the search engines. They also don’t save the strange names for the band either, the lead track on this three tracker is called Bblowup (yes I did type it right above it’s not one of my famous typing errors).

So onto the music, music that the press one pager promises is “Part riff heavy Queens of the Stone Age crunch, par Pavement-esque pop”. Sorry but I didn’t get any of that myself i’m afraid, to me they can all play, the vocalist is a touch average, but the overall sound seems a little bit chugging and directionless to me.

Listening to these three tracks i’m not sure how they are going to elevate themselves enough to make the breakthrough.
