Tahiti 80 - Big Day
Oh wow….it’s not often that pop/rock music sounds as gloriously uplifting as this, but then the French have been fine exponents of this for years now with various people from Air to Phoenix showing us how it’s done.
They though do nothing for me like Tahiti 80 have with their latest album Fosbury (their third long player to date). All 14 tracks glisten with a summery pop sheen that has been sprinkled on by Neal Pogue (Outkast) and Serban Ghenea (NERD), the ywo guys who have TYPEered and mixed the album.
My favourite track on the album is without a doubt Something About You Girl. Coming a close second is this single Big Day, I challenge you to listen to it and then honestly tell me it hasn’t put a smile on your face, it’s my soundtrack for the forthcoming summer without doubt.
