Kav - Blaggers N’ Liars EP
Kav has recently left the Happy Mondays to pursue his own solo career and at the time many would no doubt have seen that as a bit of a gamble to take. Although in fairness you are probably gambling with a lot more than your music career by touring with the Happy Mondays on a permanent basis!
The first fruits of this solo career is the Blaggers N’ Liars EP released through This Feeling Records. Of the four tracks only a couple of them left me with any impression at all, luckily it was a good impression!
Lizard King is a riff heavy track with a real funky feel to it and the closer Satanic Circus Mask is a brilliantly psychedelic piece that probably just edges it out of the two.
It’ll be interesting to see what else he comes with as this feels like a starting point rather than a high point at the moment.
