The Wonder Stuff - Blah Blah Lah Di Dah
The Wonder Stuff roll back the years with a real return to form after the disappointment of the last album and tour.
Miles Hunt has got his bite back, with witty and incisive lyrics, the only thing for me that lets down this hook filled effort is the lazyiness of the chorus. Generally (but not always I admit) when you get “blah blah” style choruses it’s because the band needed to make the song catchy but couldn’t think of a suitable chorus.
Still don’t let this detract too much from a band who when I saw them on the last tour looked out on their feet musically. Maybe just maybe The Wonder Stuff have got a bit of life left in the old eight legged groove machine dog after all.
The single Blah Blah, Lah Di Dah is out now and the album Suspended By Stars will be released on the 20th February to mark their 20th anniversary.
