BC Camplight - Blink Of A Nihilist
I can’t help but think of Brian Wilson for a number of reasons when I listen to Blink Of A Nihilist by BC Camplight, Set against a battle with mental illness and various other problems is just one reason, the biggest though is that despite that background, it’s actually quirky, upbeat pop with lovely flourishes of piano and harmony.
Sound familar?
Fear not though, Brian Christianzio (the genius behind this album) is anything but a Wilson copyist, he’s got a fragile, sunshine style all of his own which comes out so well on this his second album. It’s out now through One Little Indian Records.
