Placebo - Bright Lights
I’ve never for the life of me understood what the appeal of Placebo was (answers on a postcard please), but by hook, by crook or the fact that quite a few people don’t agree with my opinion they seem to have managed to forge a career of some length that is showing no signs of stopping yet.
The latest single from them is taken from last years album Battle For The Sun, as you would expect it has that semi American nasal whine of a vocal from Brian Molko and as bands seem to do as they get older they’ve now got strings involved as they smooth out the sound to take it deep into Radio 2 territory.
Definitely not for me and i’m sure if you have listened to music over the last fifteen years or so you’ll no doubt have a fair idea already if you’ll like it or not.
