Black Strobe - Burn Your Own Church

Black Strobe have quietly gone about their business releasing the odd single and a plethora of remixes, most of which turned up on the bands 2006 album A Remix Selection.

Produced by Paul Epworth and Alan Moulder it’s no suprise that the production is impeccable throughout Burn Your Own Church as they harness the power that Black Strobe have between the three of them (they were a four piece however Ivan Smagghe left the band, but did contribute lyrics to seven of the tracks here), fusing elements of rock and dance most tracks have a real dark edge to them, it’s almost gothic disco (that’ll be used by the NME in the next couple of weeks just watch).

My favourite track on here is the slightly mellower Lady 13, showing that the band do have a different side to them if they choose to show it. The album is out now through Playlouder Recordings.
