Saint Etienne - Burnt Out Car
Saint Etienne are a band i’ve always loved, but for me they fall into the category of a great singles band, they’ve never nailed a great album for me, even Fox Base Alpha has it’s patchy moments. Although they have had two previous Singles and Best Of collections out the latest one London Conversations promises to be the definitive one and if it is could well be worth a purchase particularly for anyone who has never delved into their back catalogue with any regularity.
Unsurprisingly they have a new single out this week to promote the album, Burnt Out Car offers more than enough pop sass and sexy vocals from Sarah Cracknell to suggest that they aren’t finished just yet even if this album hints otherwise.
