Calexico - Carried To Dust
City Slang Records must be so proud to have Calexico on their roster, not only do they garner fantastic reviews and praise at every turn, but they also have a decent and ever increasing underground following across the world.
The bands sixth album proper will do nothing to detract from that reputation either, it’s a dusty vista visioning veritable feast of musicality (forgive me for that sentence but I’ve just been reading a James Ellroy book).
It has heart, soul, and an introspective group of lyrics that give you that personal connection with the duo, it also has a shimmering beauty to it that few other groups in the world can ever hope to match and seldom do.
Fans will love it and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them convert a few thousand more either on the back of Carried To Dust.
