It would be fair comment to say that The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart don’t offer us anything new or exciting with Come Saturday, yet it would also be pretty damn churlish as well, because although they wear their mid-eighties British indie hearts on their sleeve, at the end of the day it’s just a cracking track.
It’s a driving track of three minute fuzzed up pop with a shoegazing wall of sound, masking a pop edge hovering near the surface. Superb stuff and the good news for us is that this New York outfit are on tour over here just before Christmas, now that’s my kind of present!
