Cats In Paris - Courtcase 2000
Signed to the Akoustik Anarkhy label having only been together a year, the four former student friends known as Cats In Paris release their debut album Courtcase 2000.
It’s been self produced by the band and self recorded and I can’t help but think if they had taken an experieced producer into the studio as a different pair of ears then they might well have produced a more cohesive album.
It does have the odd sparkling moments, Foxes is brilliant and Flamethrowers is also an excellent track, it’s just unfortunate for me that everything is a little messy and disparate, good ideas certainly just not woven into an album that sits together for me, it’s kind of like listening to the musical equivelent of a patchwork quilt.
