With Love And Squalor and the subsequent tours that have followed have swept everything before them in the last six months. The best singles though have now been released from the album and it’s time to get writing a follow up. As is quite often the case though the bands label are keen to keep them in the minds of the music buying public.

To do this they have compiled Crap Attack. A collection of b-sides, rarities, remixes and some of their best cover versions. These sort of things can go either way, they can either be exploitive of the fan or a diamond group of recordings that have either been missed or tucked away on singles. Thankfully the We Are Scientists collection is a genuinely good one that has some real gems. The cover of Art Brut’s Bang Bang Rock & Roll is genius, likewise Hoppipolla by Sigor Ros.

Of the W.A.S. tracks Surprise and History Repeats would have made good tracks on the album and This Scene Is Dead and The Great Escape are given very favourable remix treatment. An added bonus for fans is that it comes with a very good DVD as well. All twelve album tracks have their own video and then you get a full live show from Shepherds Bush Empire earlier this year.
