Various Artists - Cream Summer 2006
Dance music compilations are ten a penny these days, so to stand out from the crowd you either need to offer something different, value for money or have a club connected brand that wil generate interest for you.
Cream of course have long held the top spot for tie in CD’s to their Liverpool club and the Cream brand is as corporate as any other business out there. So here we are with the release of yet another compilation from them, this time it’s straight up house and trance tracks and comes under the banner of Cream Summer 2006.
It stays towards the mainstream throughout which is no big surprise, but at least it gives you sixty tracks spread over the three CD’s so you should be able to find plenty to suit you. Best song for me is Til West with Same Man as i’ve loved that since first hearing it on Zane Lowe’s show, you do get other classics such as Groove Armada with Superstylin and Plump DJ’s Funk Hits The Fan.
