Cyrion - Cyrion

I’ve heard some really good electronica albums recently and having just listened to Cyrion’s self-titled debut for a second trime, I can now add this one to that list.

Hailing from Wales they have already had support from local DJ’s like Bethan Elfyn, Huw Stephens and Adam Walton. It would be easy to dismiss this support as misguided local bias, but the truth is that this is an album that deserves backing and could well be the birth of a new electronic talent.

Throughout the ten tracks they are built round a warmth almost rich tapestry of electronica that ebbs and flows along gently without ever plodding. Some moments are truly beautiful like Agor and Candle Wax, they also show some wonderful touches of orchestration within the album as well that suggests they won’t be stuck for ideas on the follow up.
