Kosheen - Damage
Comebacks are always nice to see (unless it’s the away team at Elland Road!) and for my money this is a comeback from Kosheen. I really did think they were on their arse after Kokopelli (ok it may have sold a few copies but it wasn’t a patch on Resist), it looks though like they may have rekindkled some of that early career brilliance.
It isn’t every track by any stretch of the imagination, but songs like the title track, Your Life, Chances and Same Ground Again are absolutely sumptuous, both musically and with Sian Evans vocals.
If they can keep this sort of form up over the next album, it might not be too late for them to still emerge as a major British dance act.
