Deep Dish - Say Hello

Deep Dish return with one of the hardest tasks possible in trying to shake off the exceptional Flashdance, a track that swept all before it last summer.

Fortunately Tayebi (pictured) and Dubfire aren’t stupid, they’ve been round the block far too many times to contemplate just knocking out Flashdance mk II. Instead they opt for balearic beats and a more low-key vocal on Say Hello. That though isn’t to say that it’s anything other than the best dance record released in the last month or so, which is exactly what it felt like while I listened to it on this warm summers evening with a glass of white wine in hand…perfect.

My only gripe on this one is the Paul Van Dyk mix on the flip, time to stop going through the motions Mr Van Dyk, I think your namesake Dick could have offered us something more original given the chance.

Say Hello is taken from the forthcoming album George Is On, released on the 25th July on Positiva.
