Free State Prophets - Demo

Demo from this London based 4 piece, last year they released a single, which received some good press, Cars, Myths and Urban Riffs.

The first track is Momentum, it’s nothing unusual, in fact this could have been anyone of a dozen bands i’ve heard recently trying to hard to sound like the new Joy Division. Next track was Replicant, now this was really different, really unusual vocals, much more a rock number. Lots of guitar feedback (you can’t beat this in a rock track!!) This track had a sound all of its own and you could almost feel how much they were enjoying themselves it had a much more natural feel about it. Loved the guitars made me want to join in (if only I could actually play!!!)

The last track was Scarla, fast rock number, not quite to the standard of the last track but really well written and performed. I would guess this is a young band trying to find their own style and hopefully enjoying it along the way, not a bad effort.
