Sabatta - Didn’t C It
I was intrigued to listen to this band just from looking at their MySpace page, they look different from the neverending ‘rock’ bands out these days and also their influences consist of; RATM, Metallica and Lenny Kravitz.
The first thing I noticed was the lead vocalist-he does sound very much like Lenny Kravitz-quite a pleasant surprise! At first from reading their about me section they give off a very good lasting impression which I’m sure we could all agree on. ‘Do you ever wonder where all the great rock bands have gone?’ YES! Finally! A fresh new rock/soul band who know what they’re talking about and some great music to boast about!
Didnt C It is a soul/rock classic, they remind me of Rage Against The Machine with the slight funk factor they’ve got going on mixed in with distinctive similarities to Lenny Kravitz. Impressive riffs are played throughout and guitar solos are also well mixed in with this. They are on the softer side of rock rather than the heavy but they do this without falling into the poor category we now call punk-rock/emo. The track Emperors New Clothes isnt as catchy as Didnt C It but I wouldn’t say its a bad track, just a track I’d choose to skip if it came up on my ipod!
Raw is just as well very catchy and funky but it has to be said again Didnt C is the best track I’ve heard from this band and immediatelty caught my attention. Their style is rather garage/blues/soul aswell as mixed in with rock. They are already being compared to Nirvana and Jimmi Hendrix. Personally I wouldnt compare them to Nirvana-they were more grunge/rock but Jimmi Hendrix is definately the more appropriate option.
Didnt C was released on 15th September via Blackfriars Entertainment-Watch out for these, they’ll soon be dominating Kerrang and most likely the radio!
