Kat Flint - Dirty Birds
Kat Flint is a talented singer-songwriter who has self financed her music career, mainly by asking he public to contribute money to her. It seems a lot of people have backed her from what I can gather as this album is exceptionally well produced and put together.
For all she gets a fair bit of press for her voice, for me it’s her song-writing itself that is the strongest element of her musicianship, her voice doesn’t seem that distinct or remarkable to me, but her lyrics are thoughtful and deep.
The highlights of the album for me are the twinkling piano sound of opener Go Faster Stripes, The excellent Christopher, You’re A Soldier Now and the closing gentle strum of Dirty Birds.
A talent definitely, but enough to stand out, for now I’m not altogether sure.
