Silverfall - Don’t Cry Michael (3 Track Sampler)
Silverfall are singer/songwriter/rhythm guitar and keyboard player Jenny Bailey, Bass, Michael Law and Lee Emmett on Drums.
Don’t Cry Michael was a single release back in July and was apparently written for or about Michael Law while going through a bad patch in his life. The vocals and lyrics are heartfelt and moving, it took a while but this track did start to grow a little after several plays. Not sure if this would appeal to the masses, for me it’s more of a filler track on an album, nice but not stand out. Hey Now is a little more up beat, I read somewhere it being likened to an indie band covering The Corrs and for me this just about sums up all of the tracks. The vocals are ok, easy to listen to with inoffensive lyrics.
Last Statement was perhaps my favourite, not really sure why it just appealed a little more than the earlier tracks. Overall, not a band I would walk out on or talk over if they were a supporting act, but not sure, I would go out and buy the album. For me they just didn’t stand out enough to shine above the many other good indie bands about at the moment, however if you really like female vocals in the style of Fleetwood Mac etc then this may be for you.
