Moneen - Don’t Ever Tell Locke What He Can’t Do
Moneen are a Canadian four-piece band formed in 1999 and based in Toronto. This single is taken from the bands third Album The Red Tree.
The band have just finished a UK tour co-headlining with Bayside and Attach in Black. Strange title for a single but apparently this is a reference to the TV series Lost, in the first season the character John Locke tells another character to never tell him what he can and can’t do!
Listed as an Emo/Indie rock band, this track starts as it finishes with heart wrenching vocals, fast furious guitars and a dammed good drum beat. I hadn’t heard of this band before but wish I had. I would have been first in line at the Cockpit in April to see them had I known just how good they were, I hope they get back to the UK soon.
