Shy Child - Drop The Phone

Shy Child are another band that seem to be getting lumped into the ‘new rave’ gang at the moment by the press, as a result of this they are also getting tipped for big things this year.

On first listen to their new single Drop The Phone (released on PIAS/Wall Of Sound) I wasn’t sure what that was based on, sure they fuse elements of hip hop, electro and punk to very good effect, but their didn’t seem that much different to their sound.

Further listens though prove worth the effort and the energy in the song starts to come out from the New York duo, possibly even more so on the squelchy brilliance of b-side Down On Yourself.

The single is out now.
