The Envy Corps - Dwell

The Envy Corps are a band that have sort of crept up on me. I had no awareness of them until i’d reviewed the Rhinemaidens single (which features on the album), I loved that single and likewise the follow up, Story Problem which proceeded the release of the album.

Dwell is the album and i’m finding that I really like this as well, I wasn’t sure if it would all sound a little similar when put together on a long player, pleasingly it doesn’t. Taking influence from americana and the lo-fi college bands of the early 90’s seemingly, The Envy Corps have come up with one of the best and most enjoyable guitar albums i’ve heard so far this year.

It’s a shame they are only heading north on one date (in Liverpool) so I won’t get chance to catch them live, they will be a band that I will look out for tour dates from in the future though.
