Scarlet Blonde - Electric

Promotional information states Scarlet Blonde draw influences from 80’ synth, 70’ punk, new wave, dance, hip hop and full on rock, Wow! What a combination. When I first started to play this track, I actually thought my cd player was broken, the sound is really weird, sometimes you need to play a track like this repeatedly in order to get it. I tried that but it still sounded wrong to me.

I get the 80’s synth, although wasn’ too fond of it in the 80’s with one or two exceptions such as Human League and one Howard Johnson track (that really will age me!!!) didn’t hear any of the other influences on this track. It had a slightly dated sound, vocals weren’t really strong enough and the chorus was weak.

Other reviews have raved about this band and the future possibilities so who knows perhaps better is to come. The single Electric is out now with the album following on the 1st May.
