Tokyo Police Club - Elephant Shell

Memphis Industries have been one of my favourite record labels in recent years giving us great music by the likes of The Go! Team and Broadway Project, unfortunately though they seem to have gone off the boil a little over the last twelve months and The Go! Team second album being a disappointment just added to that.

So it’s pleasing to see that they have hit back with a strong album from much fancied Tokyo Police Club, who have built majestically on their debut album with the release of this debut long player. Elephant Shell is a sonic guitar album with soaring vocals, nods to bands like Editors, Bloc Party and fellow countrymen The Stills are all there on tracks like Tessellate and Centennial.

A label back on form and a band worth keeping your eye on as they have really great potential.
