History of Guns - Empty Eyes / But I’ll Be Waiting

History of Guns have been recording since 2004 when they released there debut album Flash of Light. The promo material with the cd describes them as “a bewildering mix of punk, industrial, electronica, chaos, escapism, ambient, manic depression, dance music, mysticism, sound effects, other worlds, progressive rock, altered states and self destruction”.

Well after all that I think I would probably want to self destruct, perhaps they weren’t too sure so just decided to put every descriptive word they could think of down. The punk influence is clear from the beginning with the almost copycat vocals of the legend that is Johnny Rotten. But for me that’s as far as it goes, I personally found this irritating and false sounding. B-side But I’ll Be Waiting was for me much better, didn’t sound as if they were trying so hard, much more natural and confident.
