Audiolake - Films

Films is a really nioce piece of work by Audiolake, it has so many positives to it, from the beautiful voice that Joseph Holland possesses, tyo the arrangement and production of all the songs, it really should be a complete joy to behold a five out of five album…so why isn’t it.

The problem for me as a casual listener (as in not a huge fan of the band already) is that i’m looking for them to grab my attention in some way, even if it’s just “this sounds really nice in the background”, unfortunately I don’t get that, it’s almost like the album has been made for the musicians benefit alone and not for the listener.

All of which is fine of course and doesn’t detract from the album as a piece of art, but it does mean that the emotional connection you feel with music is lost somewhere along the line.

Test before you buy, but do test as it could well be to your liking.
