Be Your Own Pet - Fire Department
Sometimes listening to music makes me insanely jealous I don’t know about you?
So it comes to pass that is exactly how I feel listening to pubescent noisenicks Be Your Own Pet. It just isn’t fair that someone so young should have so much talent at that age, have all that acclaim at that age and make records that have a spikey, ballsy pulse running throughout them.
Fire Department the second single does exactly that, taking the same mantle left unattended by the absent Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but adding less pretension and more musical talent into the mix to come up with the sort of record that will have you pogoing around a dancefloor at 3 in the morning doing high kicks like all us frustrated non-guitar players do…..or is that just me?

But anyway...I haven’t heard Fire Department but did see the video for “Damn Damn Leash”. They reminded me of the Monkeys. Not musically, just in a geeks running around in videos kinda way.
