Jill Barber - For All Time

We’ve been a little bit cheated in the UK if you ask me, Jill Barber actually released this album in 2006, but it’s only now being made available in the UK. This isn’t her fault of course as it’s down to distribution and record deals etc, but we’ve missed out on a little treat in that time if you ask me.

For All Time is a vibrant and fresh album that showcases both her songwriting ability (one that gives you a real variety of styles on the album) as well as a really nice voice. She mixes things up with a bluesy vocal and musically the sound is a smooth folk feel with various instruments used throughout giving a jazz edge to proceedings.

The only thing lacking really is a coherent personality runnming through the album, something you sometimes get from the music but more often you get from the unique edge to a voice, she doesn’t have that but don’t let that stop you from checking her out.
