Bat For Lashes - Fur And Gold

27 year old Natasha Khan could be the next generation of kooky, other wordly lead singer that has been missing since the millennium (and no Alison Goldfrapp doesn’t count).

We had Kate Bush in the 80’s, Bjork in the 90’s and now stepping up to the plate with definite nods to her two predecessors comes Khan under the guise of Bat For Lashes.

Fur And Gold is a captivating and haunting 11 track album that manages to sound both crammed and spacious throughout it’s varying points. Lyrically and musically it’s set in a fantasy world that if you were remaking the soundtrack to the Box of Delights (remember that anybody?) this would be the modern equivalent.

I can’t believe for a minute that this girl isn’t going to be a star and based on one of our reviewers who saw her live a couple of weeks ago in London she can cut it live as well.
