Archive - Get Out
Every so often a band comes along that you’ve never heard of, the type of band that are on their fourth album and you really feel you should know all about them, possibly even be one of your favourite bands.
Archive are one such band who grabbed me by the musical bollocks earlier this year when I got sent a copy of Noise (the bands fourth long player). The English lads have strangely enough had a lot of success in France but have yet to be taken to the heart of their homeland.
Noise was everything I wanted in an album, slightly odd and quirky, great musicianship, songs that were deep and well constructed bot hmusically and lyrically and a variety of instruments and sounds used to create an almost cinematic feel to many of the tracks.
One of the stand out tracks is Get Out, an obvious live favourite, one they have used often to close their shows and released here as a download single. This is being released to promote the download (through iTunes) only album Live At Le Nuits Botanique, which strangely enough is a live album comprising of songs from their last three albums.
Both the single and the album are available now.
