I don’t know what it is about Jamie Cullum but I just can’t see any point to him. He’s just one of those really inoffensive blokes, no edge, probably no malice who has never sworn in his life….all that’s fine if you are Roy Cropper in Coronation Street but this is ROCK ‘N ROLL we are talking about for gods sake.

Yes it’s easy to make excuses for him, the style of music etc is considered easy listening and so you’d expect the architect of it to be someone that every girl can take home to their parents without a fear of him getting a kicking from the Father….but that doesn’t wash with me.

Frank Sinatra had an edge (get yourself in with the Moss Side Massive Cullum and we’ll revisit this review), Dean Martin had an edge (drink like a fish and we might even join you for one Jamie) christ even Joss Stone has something about her (seemed a decent laugh when I saw her on Jonathan Ross and Fell In Love With A Boy was a blinding reworking).

To be fair he’s tried to buy himself an edge by getting Dan The Automator to produce Get Your Way, unfortunately any production skills we’ve seen previously from him are lost in and amongst this dull plodder.
