The Rumble Strips - Girls And Weather
Girls And Boys In Love was my recent introduction to The Rumble Strips and I immediately loved the song, a very infectious track that really should have made a bigger dent in the charts. On the back of this I was pretty excited about listening to the album Girls And Weather.
Having given it a few listens over the last few days though I can’t help but feel a touch disappointed by it. Don’t get me wrong their is no ‘bad’ tracks as such, the biggest problem is that too many of the songs sound the same and leaves the Devon lads looking a little like one trick ponies.
This may be being a touch harsh for what is a very upbeat debut album with a very individual style to the band, I just hope that they can edge that style into different directions a bit more on the next album.
