Pathaan - Globetronica Volume 2
The second installment from World wide respected DJ, Pathaan in the Globetronica series (released through Platipus Records and out now) and for me it just dips below the quality of the first album.
That isn’t to say that this one is bad, the first one in the series (like most) is always going to be hard to follow and while he once again demonstrates that he has his fingers firmly on the pulse of anything remotely possessing a beat.
You get artists like The Orb, Nitin Sawhney, Simian Mobile Disco and Stereo MCs rubbing shoulders comfortably alongside less well known acts in this country like Duke Dumont, Klute, The Last Atlant and DelaDap, if you’ve got the first it’s worth investing in this one, if not, then try the first one and then see how you feel about getting this one as he takes you on a journey far closer to a carnival in spirit.
