The Clientele - God Save The Clientele

The Clientele have been around since 1997, popping up on various labels before seemingly settling on the wonderful Track And Field Organisation label which seems to be going through a peak period at the moment for releasing quality albums.

God Save The Clientelle is the bands fourth full length album and see’s them on their usual spectacularly understated form. That isn’t a dismissive jibe about the band or their music, it’s an indication of how they go quietly about their business, luckily for us that business is writing brilliant pop songs with a slightly experimental feel with a real warm glow from inside to out.

The highlights on this album for me would have to be the magical These Days Nothing But Sunshine, the lovely Bookshop Casanova and The Dance Of the Hours.

Well worth checking out folks if you are looking to cling to the last remnants of summer and like bands such as Joy Zipper then The Clientele should be your next port of call.
