Matt & Kim - Grand
Matt & Kim’s album Grand is a highly anticipated long player, having had a a decent amount of chatter on the underground scene about their energetic live shows and tunes that will get a dancefloor shape busting every time.
Recent single Lessons Learned gave us an indication of what to expect from the duo and the album doesn’t disappoint in that respect, eleven fully loaded joints that have a certain charm to them, not least because everywhere you turn you have a hook coming into view.
The downside is that they don’t vary it enough acrosss the eleven tracks, so by the time you get to the Daylight Outro Remix you feel like you’ve heard it all a lot of times before…which essentially you have. If you fancy a fun and action packed dose of funky indie shenanigans then you could do a lot worse.
