Coldplay - Gravity

In case anybody is wondering why i’m reviewing the latest Coldplay b-side then i’ll explain (although this is fairly common musical knowledge). Gravity is the very same song that relaunched the careers of those fine upstanding Yorkshiremen that you and I know as Embrace.

No it’s not technically a cover version either as it was written by Chris Martin originally and then very kindly donated to Embrace…the rest as they say is history.

As with most things that Coldplaytouch it isn’t bad, the version on the b-side of the 7” and DVD version of Talk doesn’t veer too far away from the version you’ve probably heard previously. For me though it seems that touch too slow and doesn’t have the same build in the chorus that you get with the Embrace version.

Hats off to Chris Martin for writing a good song but it’s a victory on points for Embrace on this one.
