Hanne Hukkelberg - Ease

If everything in Leeds is brilliant then Norway must be fucking luminous. The country’s musicial offerings seem to be relentless at the moment, with 26 year old Hanne Hukkelberg not letting the side down.

Ease is taken from Hanne’s debut album, Little Things, the international version of which will be released by The Leaf Label on 27 June. Hanne’s intricate voice is as layered as the music and scats in the background as a synthesizer and clarinet tussle up front. If that sounded like a bad description of Peter and the Wolf then I apologise to both artist and reader now. It’s early.

Hanne’s served time in projects ranging from metal, prog rock, jazz and all out improv which definitely serves as a taster of what to expect on the album which features colaborations with Jaga Jazzist, Kaada (who recently collaborated with Mike Patton on an album for Ipecac), Shining, Kiruna and Exploding Plastix.
