Ed Parrish - Happy Christmas Mr Blair

Christmas brings the usual bundle of shite cover versions, boy bands balladeering us and of course a raft of novelty records. Very rarely does it bring a decent song with a political message that has a genuine chance of reaching number one.

OK when I say it has a genuine chance of reaching number one, i’m talking about in the download chart, this charity record for the British Legion Poppy Appeal is after all only going to be available through the usual download sites.

This is such a song though, great vocals from Ed Parrish (like a more in tune Billy Bragg) and a political agenda that tells our current PM that as a country we ain’t too happy about a few things (even if Labour are a better alternative to the Conservatives) and more importantly it follows the golden rule of opening with church bells.

Happy Christmas Mr Blair is out on the 5th December on all major download sites!
