Switches - Heart Tuned To D.E.A.D.

Switches debut is very much a mixed affair, something that has been coming out peoples live reviews of the band as well.

Heart Tuned To D.E.A.D. does on occasions have the power to absolutely blow you away and leave you thinking about what might have been if the whole album could live up to tracks like Drama Queen, the staggeringly brilliant Lay Down The Law and Every Second Counts.

The truth is though that when they don’t hit those heights they come up way short and find themselves sounding like Busted or McFly and the last time I heard that wasn’t considered a good thing. Fortunately the general feel of the album is ‘decent’ so take out the four or so boy band sounding tracks and it isn’t a bad debut album…I just get the feeling it could have been so much better.
