Client - Heartland

Oh damn..that really is disappointing! I thought the first Client album was a little disappointing in places but the release of Drive gave me a little bit of hope that the bands follow up would be a lot more consistent at scaling the dizzy heights.

Unfortunately Heartland is a little bit lifeless and emotionally vacant. Blackwood sounds like she’s going through the motions on the whole with her two cohorts, it’s electro-pop that is at best average, with a little bit of sexiness thrown in with the marketing and clothing to try and shift a few extra copies. Which is a shame because Sarah Blackwood is better than that.

The album is out now.
